Crab Lover’s Delight. Starting in 2005 Capt, Vern will be offering dungeness crab fishing charters. You will spend the day learning how to fish for crab. Capt. Vern will show you how to bait and set crab pots that have your name on the buoy attached to the pot. You will let the pots soak for a few hours while you participate in other activities that you have reserved.
Later that day or next, if you charter for more than one day with Capt. Vern, you will haul your pot and sort through your catch of dungeness crab. Capt. Vern will show you how to determine the proper size and sex of the crab to be retained.
Upon returning to the dock you will learn how to clean your crab for preparation to be cooked and frozen or enjoyed that evening at your place of lodging. Fresh crab cooked the same day will definitely spoil crab lovers.
